2017 SDSU Softball Fall Schedule
NOTE: SDSU's game against Palomar CC will now be played on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 3 p.m. PT (not Nov. 8)
San Diego State softball head coach Kathy Van Wyk has announced a nine-game fall schedule, highlighted by the annual alumni game on Saturday, Nov. 18. Eight of the nine games will be played at SDSU Softball Stadium, where admission is free to the public.
San Diego State finished the 2017 campaign with a 31-18 overall record - its 12th consecutive 30-win season - and a 15-9 mark and runner-up finish in Mountain West play. The Aztecs, who finished with seven school records, including batting average (.356), on-base percentage (.418), slugging percentage (.516), hits (497), RBIs (295), sacrifice flies (23) and runs (324, tied), did not receive an at-large bid into the NCAA tournament, despite finishing second in the sixth-best conference in the nation (as of May 8) (out of 32 leagues), the 29th-toughest non-conference schedule (as of May 8) and a No. 42 RPI.
SDSU kicks off the fall slate on Wednesday, Oct. 25 against Southwestern CC at 5 p.m. PT.
San Diego State then has a busy weekend on Nov. 3-4 with a game at San Diego (USD) - its lone road game - on Friday, Nov. 3 at 6 p.m. PT. The following day, the Aztecs play host to a round-robin, playing against Central Arizona CC at 10 a.m. PT and Mt. SAC at 4 p.m. PT. In between Mt. SAC and CACC play at 1 p.m. PT.
SDSU welcomes vs. UC San Diego on Friday, Nov. 10 (1 p.m. PT) and El Camino CC on Saturday, Nov. 11 (noon PT), before playing a midweek contest vs. Palomar CC at 3 p.m. PT Wednesday, Nov. 15.
San Diego State ends its fall schedule on Nov. 17-18, welcoming Santiago Canyon College on Friday (4 p.m. PT) and the alumni on Saturday (noon PT).
The Aztecs' officially will kick off their 2018 season in February. Details will be announced in the coming weeks.
