SAN DIEGO -

SDSU Football Future Schedules

San Diego State and Washington State have agreed to a home-and-home series in football beginning in 2024, the two schools announced today. The Aztecs and Cougars will play Sept. 7, 2024 in San Diego and Sept. 6, 2025 in Pullman.

SDSU, which already had home-and-home games with Oregon State in 2013-14 and California in 2015-16, now has a Pac-12 team on its schedule in each of the next 12 seasons, all home-and-home series. San Diego State is scheduled to play a series with Arizona State (2017 in Tempe, 2018 in San Diego), a home-and-home with Stanford (2017 in San Diego, 2018 in Stanford), a series with UCLA (2019 in Los Angeles, 2020 in San Diego), a home-and-home with Arizona (2021 in Tucson, 2022 in San Diego), a series with Utah (2021 in San Diego, 2022 in Salt Lake City), another with UCLA (2023 in San Diego, 2026 in Los Angeles), now one with WSU (2024 in San Diego, 2025 in Pullman) and a second with ASU (2027 in Tempe, 2028 in San Diego).

The Aztecs are also slated for home-and-home non-conference series with Eastern Michigan (2018 in San Diego, 2019 in Ypilsanti) and Brigham Young (2019 in San Diego, 2020 in Provo, Utah).

The teams have played each other twice with SDSU defeating Washington State, 42-24, in the last meeting in San Diego in 2011. San Diego State lost the first matchup by a 45-17 score in the 2007 opener, which was played at Qwest Field (now CenturyLink Field) in Seattle.

Last year, the Cougars were 8-5 overall and finished second in the Pac-12 North with a 7-2 league mark. WSU, which had an eight-game winning streak at one point in the season, lost its final three games, including a 17-12 loss to Minnesota in the National Funding Holiday Bowl on Dec. 27 at Qualcomm Stadium.

The Aztecs are coming off an 11-3 season, knocking off Wyoming, 27-24, in the MW Championship game for their second straight Mountain West title and third since 2012. SDSU went onto defeat Houston, 34-10, in the Las Vegas Bowl, to finish with a No. 25 ranking in both the AP Top 25 poll and the Amway Coaches Poll. It is just the second time that San Diego State has been ranked in the final AP poll in program history (also 1977). The 11 wins tied a school single-season record as the Aztecs became the first team in program history with back-to-back 11-win campaigns.

SDSU is accepting new account deposits on 2017 season tickets through the Aztec Ticket Office, while current season-ticket holders can also renew their tickets for the 2017 campaign. Fans can purchase tickets through GoAztecs.com, over the phone by calling (619) 283-7378, or by visiting Qualcomm Stadium's Window E between 9 a.m. PT and 5 p.m. PT.
