SEATTLE -
San Diego State track and field closed out the UW Invitational with a flourish, as freshman Andrenette Knight won the 60-meter hurdles, senior Starlynn Singleton won the long jump and, a day after setting the meet record in the 200, junior Ashley Henderson won the 60-meter dash.
Henderson won the 60 meters with a 7.43 time, the sixth-best time in program history. Senior Micha Auzenne came in second after running the race in 7.48. Singleton was fifth at 7.55.
Knight secured her first win as a collegiate, as she crossed the finish line of the 60-meter hurdles in 8.50, the program's 10th-best time. Senior Madison Gipson was fifth, running the race in 8.70.
Singleton took first in the long jump with a personal best of 19-00.75, just 0.25 inch longer than second-place Andrea Geubelle. Kira Moreland was 11th with a 17-09.50 mark, Jelena McNown finished 13th at 17-08.75 and Lisa-Anne Barrow was 21st with her 17-03.50 mark.
Junior Ellison Grove ran the 800 in two minutes, 10.03 seconds, to finish 11th. Classmate Monique McPherson ran the event in 2:17.32 for 39th.
In the 400, Simone Glenn was 10th with a 57.04 time. The high jump saw Hannah Taylor, in her first collegiate appearance, record a 5-01.00 mark for 27th, while Sara Curran was 15th in the pole vault (11-01.00).
The Scarlet and Black is off for a week before heading to Albuquerque, N.M. for the Don Kirby Collegiate Invitational on Feb. 10-11.
