- San Diego State's win streaks that were snapped:
- 13 consecutive wins (was second-longest active win streak in FBS (Alabama)).

- SDSU trailed, 7-0, in the first quarter, the first time it had trailed this season and the first time in 249 minutes, 32 seconds (249:32) since the MW Championship game against Air Force.
- San Diego State outscored South Alabama, 16-14, in the first half and has now outscored the opposition, 292-94, in the first half over its last 14 games.
