WHAT'S ON TAP THIS WEEKEND IN AZTEC BASEBALL
Including the completion of a suspended game, San Diego State will play five games vs. Air Force this weekend at Tony Gwynn Stadium. On Friday (May 6), the Aztecs and Falcons will complete a game that was halted in Colorado Springs in mid-March due to SDSU travel arrangements. The contest will take up in the top of the eighth inning with SDSU at bat, a runner at first and two out with Air Force leading, 10-7. The regularly scheduled Friday game will get underway at 6:00 p.m. or half an hour after the completion of the suspended contest. On Saturday, the teams will play a doubleheader with a seven-inning game starting at noon and a nine-inning contest set to commence half an hour after the finish of the opener. One of those games is a makeup of the postponed contest that was snowed out at Air Force in March in which the Falcons will be the home team The weekend will conclude on Sunday with a contest scheduled to get underway at 1:00 p.m.

ON THE AIR
Friday night's regular game as well as Sunday's contest vs. Air Force will have live video streaming on the Mountain Digital Network with links at www.GoAztecs.com. In addition, live stats will be available for all of the games this weekend with the links available at GoAztecs.com. Audio broadcasts for the weekend series have yet to be determined.

SERIES RECORD
San Diego State's all-time record against Air Force stands at 100-22 since the teams first met in 1961. The Falcons are one of three teams against which SDSU has recorded 100 wins. The other two are New Mexico (110) and Utah (102). The Aztecs have won 53 of the last 59 meetings between the teams. The Falcons won the one game played in Colorado Springs this season. The Aztecs are 54-8 vs. the Falcons in San Diego and 39-14 at Air Force's home field. The Aztecs have won all seven meetings at neutral sites.

CHAPMAN TAKES HIS CHANCE
Sophomore Denz'l Chapman made his first start of the season in the contest vs. Nevada on Sunday, May 1. Prior to that game he had made 11 appearances as a pinch runner or defensive replacement. The center fielder responded by going 2-for-4 with a run scored. He was awarded a second start on Tuesday vs. No. 17 Cal State Fullerton and again went 2-for-4 with a triple, RBI and run scored. In the series opener at Fresno State last Friday (May 6), he repeated a 2-for-4 performance with a run scored and stolen base. Over the past five contests he is hitting .353 (6-for-17) with a triple, RBI, three runs scored and two stolen bases.

ADKISON HITS AWAY
Sophomore Tyler Adkison has hit in four of SDSU's last five contests going 8-for-20 (.400). He had his third three-hit contest of the year on Friday (May 6) at Fresno State, tying his personal best for hits in a game. Adkison had a personal season-best nine-game hitting streak come to an end in the game at USD on April 12. During that streak he went 12-for-35 (.343) with three doubles, a triple, home run, 11 RBI and four runs scored. He hit a pair of home runs in the contest at Air Force on March 20.

TREJO KEEPS HITTING
Shortstop Alan Trejo leads SDSU in hitting among the regular starters with a .316 average. He has reached base safely (via hit, walk or hit by pitch) in 11 straight contests. He had a pair of sacrifice flies in the win over No. 17 CSU Fullerton on May 3. He had a streak of drawing a walk in eight straight games end last Saturday (May 7) at Fresno State.

NEVAREZ IN A PINCH
Freshman Dean Nevarez made his fifth pinch hitting appearance of the year at New Mexico on April 23. He responded with a two-run double. He has gone 2-for-5 as a pinch hitter this season with a walk. Nevarez is the only Aztec pinch hitter with more than one hit.

WYLIE REACHING BASE
Second baseman Justin Wylie has gone 12-for-40 (.300) in the Aztecs last 10 contests. He has reached base safely via hit, walk or hit by pitch in 13 consecutive games. He tied his season high with three hits in the game on April 9 vs. UNLV. He is second on the team with 14 multiple-hit games this season. Wylie leads the squad in stolen bases with seven.

VERDON ON SUNDAY
Freshman Jordan Verdon finished the series at Fresno State last Sunday (May 8) by going 1-for-3 with an RBI and run scored. He had two hits including a double with two RBI and a run scored in the series finale vs. Nevada on Sunday, May 1. He had a pair of hits and drove in three runs the previous Sunday in the win at New Mexico (April 24). His RBI single in the ninth drove in SDSU's final important run in what ended up as a 10-9 win. In Sunday games this season he is hitting .361 (13-for-36).

CONFERENCE HITTING
Six of SDSU's regular starters are hitting above the .300 mark in Mountain West Conference games. That list includes Justin Wylie (.337), Andrew Brown (.308), Alan Trejo (.307), Jordan Verdon (.307), Spencer Thornton (.302), and Tyler Adkison (.301). As a team the Aztecs are hitting .289 in league games.

STREAKS
San Diego State's current longest hitting streak is five games by freshman Jordan Verdon. The team's longest hitting streak this season is 15 games by Alan Trejo. Justin Wylie has reached base safely (via hit, walk or hit by pitch) in each of the last 13 games while Alan Trejo has done so in the last 11. The longest such streak by an SDSU hitter this season is 22 games by Spencer Thornton. Trejo leads the Aztecs with 18 multiple-hit contests as well as a team-high seven multiple-RBI games.

AZTEC NOTES
Left fielder Chase Calabuig has gone 5-for-16 (.313) over SDSU's last four games … Andrew Brown finished off the Fresno State series on Sunday (May 8) by recording three singles, his highest hit total in a game this season … Reliever Mike Diamond has not allowed a run in his last five appearances (8.2 innings), surrendering just three hits with three walks and seven strikeouts … Junior left-hander Marcus Reyes picked up his first win of the season after tossing three shutout innings against No. 17 Cal State Fullerton on May 3 … Jordan Verdon is one of seven Aztecs to have recorded a double, triple and home run this season. The others include Spencer Thornton, Alan Trejo, Tyler Adkison, Andrew Brown, Dean Nevarez and Chase Calabuig … Shortstop Alan Trejo is the only player to have started all 46 games this season at the same position … Only one other Aztec has started all 46 games, but not at the same position each time: Justin Wylie (2B-3B-DH) … Niko Navarro (1-for-3), Dean Nevarez (2-for-5) and Jordan Verdon (1-for-2) are the only three Aztecs to have recorded a hit as a pinch hitter. A total of 15 Aztec pinch hitters are 4-for-26 on the year.
