ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Micha Auzenne won two individual events and Ashley Henderson won another to lead the San Diego State track and field team to a second-place finish at the 2016 Mountain West Indoor Championships Saturday in Albuquerque, N.M.

Auzenne, who yesterday set a school record in the prelims of the 60 meters in 7.32 seconds, first won the 60 in 7.33, then took home the 60 hurdles title in a program-record time of 8.18. The 8.18 broke her own record time of 8.21, set last year en route to her first MW title.

"It was almost like practice with four of us (in the finals)," Auzenne said. "I just wanted to win and not overthink things. I took the same approach in the 60 and fortunately it worked out."

For her efforts, Auzenne was named the meet's Women's Outstanding Performer.

"It was a great way to finish the indoor season," Auzenne said. "We are going to go into outdoor (season) with the same mindset."

Sierra Brabham-Lawrence came in second in the 60 hurdles in 8.29, tied for the fourth-fastest time in program history as the Aztecs went 1-2-4-6 in the event to move into second place and never looked back. Madison Gipson took fourth in 8.47 (No. 9 all-time at SDSU), while Kassidy Ellis was sixth in 8.58.

"Most people don't know that Micha took a month off from competition," head coach Shelia Burrell said. "That hurdle race was the high point for us. Sierra Brabham-Lawrence ran a great race. We expect big things out of her come outdoor (season)."

Henderson, meanwhile, blazed to a school-record time of 23.44 in the 200 to capture her first career MW title. The time bested Shanae Roach's 23.45 set at the 2011 MW Championships. Henderson also added a fourth-place showing in the 60 in 7.46.

"My mindset (heading into the 200) was just to fight," Henderson said. "The 200 is my favorite race and I just wanted to give it my all. I knew where we stood as a team heading into the race and just wanted to win and set a PR (personal record). To do that and get a school record was amazing."

Simone Glenn took third in the 200, completing the one-lap event in 23.84, tied for fourth all-time at San Diego State. She was also eighth in the 60 earlier in the day at 7.64.

Jazmen Bunch individually double-scored for the Aztecs, coming in sixth in the 200 (24.18) and seventh in the 60 (7.62).

Ellison Grove, owner of the indoor school record in the 800, was sixth in the final of the event today in 2:10.54. Je'Neal Ainsworth also scored for SDSU in the triple jump, taking seventh with a leap of 39 feet, 7 ¼ inches (12.07).

San Diego State ended the day with a fourth-place showing in the 4x400-meter relay, clocking a time of 3:43.44. The relay team, which consisted of Auzenne, Gipson, Glenn and Tyra Lea, clocked the third-fastest time in program history.

The runner-up finish was San Diego State's best showing since winning the championship in 2013. The Aztecs were third in each of the past two indoor championships. SDSU amassed 105 points for the meet, just 10 behind Colorado State (115) and 34.5 points ahead of third-place Boise State (71.5).

"I hate that we lost and I hate that we got second," Burrell said. "But I am extremely proud of how hard we competed. We had so many lifetime bests and really stepped up. We are young and will take what we learned from this meet into the outdoor season."
