COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The San Diego State football team swept the Mountain West weekly awards for a 41-17 victory at Colorado State on Saturday, the league announced today. Junior Donnel Pumphrey (Las Vegas) won the MW Offensive Player-of-the-Week award, classmate Damontae Kazee (San Bernardino, Calif.) was chosen as the MW Defensive Player of the Week and senior Donny Hageman (Covina, Calif.) was named the MW Special Teams Player of the Week.

It is just the sixth time in the 17-year history of the league that a team has swept the weekly awards (excluding co-players) and the second by the Aztecs (also Oct. 23, 2000 - Derrick Lewis (offense), Jomar Butler (defense) and Nate Tandberg (special teams)).

Pumphrey picked up the offensive award by gaining a game-high 168 all-purpose yards, including 121 yards and two touchdowns on the ground and 47 yards on two receptions and a score through the air. It was his fifth straight game with 100-plus yards, sixth 100-yard game this season and 19th of his career. The five consecutive games with 100-plus yards is tied for the fourth-longest streak in program history. It was his second conference honor of the season and the fourth of the career, despite resting the final 14:04 of the game and SDSU's final three drives.

Kazee, meanwhile, captured the first award of his career after recording seven tackles (five solo), an interception for a touchdown and a forced fumble. It was the first touchdown of his career, sixth interception of the year and eighth of his career. His six picks this year rank in a tie for sixth in program single-season history. The forced fumble kept the Rams out of the end zone at the goal line and safety Trey Lomax recovered it. The 55-yard interception returned for a touchdown gave San Diego State a 27-10 lead.

Hageman connected on both field goal attempts and all five PAT's in the win. He had back-to-back field goals late in the second quarter to tie the game at 10-10 (20 yards) and with no time left to give SDSU a 13-10 lead (54 yards) and a lead it would never relinquish. He also had a field goal long of 54 yards, which matched a career long and was the second longest in program history. Hageman became just the second Aztec in school history with multiple 50-plus-yard field goals (54 and 54) joining Chris O'Brien (50 and 51) in 1984. He was also was perfect in kickoff attempts, averaging 65.0 yards per boot on seven attempts with a career-high-tying five touchbacks.

Winners of five straight games, San Diego State (6-3, 5-0 MW) takes an off week before playing host to Wyoming at 7:30 p.m. PT on Nov. 14.
