San Diego State men's tennis players Freddy Gelbrich and Hendrik Jebens picked up spots in 2015 Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Men's Division I Preseason Rankings, ranking 31st as a doubles pairing and sitting 77nd and 112nd respectively in the singles list.

Gelbrich, a senior, was the 2015 Co-Mountain West Player of the Year, San Diego State's second such honoree since 2012. A three-time Mountain West Player of the Week selection, the Isernhagen, Germany native finished the year with a 16-9 record and a 15-7 mark in dual matches, including a 12-6 mark in the top spot.

Jebens was an All-Mountain West singles pick in 2015 as a sophomore, going 22-5 overall, 19-4 in dual matches and 5-1 in conference play. The native of Stuttgart, Germany was undefeated against nationally-ranked opponents: No. 67 Karue Sell of UCLA, No. 72 Filip Vittek of San Diego and No. 82 Samir Iftikhar of New Mexico.

As a doubles team, the pair earned an all-league selection, yielding a 19-6 record, all in the top spot, while posting a 6-1 record against Mountain West opponents.

San Diego State finished the 2015 campaign ranked No. 38 after advancing to the second round of the NCAA Championship for the first time since 2003. The Aztecs earned an at-large bid to their first tournament since 2005 after spending the final nine weeks of the season nationally ranked. Then ranked No. 40, San Diego State topped 21st-ranked USD before falling to the 2014 National Champions USC.
