The San Diego State softball team will play nine games this fall season - all at SDSU Softball Stadium - head coach Kathy Van Wyk announced today. Highlighting the fall slate will be the Alumni Game on Saturday, Nov. 15.
The Aztecs kick off their fall campaign on Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 3 p.m. PT when they take on Cal State San Marcos. On Friday, Nov. 13, SDSU tangles with UC San Diego at 3:30 p.m. PT.
San Diego State continues its play on Saturday, Nov. 14 with games against San Diego (11 a.m. PT) and Cal State San Bernardino (3 p.m. PT) with USD and CSSB playing in between at 1 p.m. PT.
The annual Alumni Game rounds out the busy week, starting at noon PT on Sunday, Nov. 15.
The Aztecs are back in action on Wednesday, Nov. 18 against Southwestern College, beginning at 3 p.m. PT. SDSU next takes on El Camino College on Friday, Nov. 20 at 6 p.m. PT.
San Diego State ends the fall slate on Saturday, Nov. 21 with games against Palomar College (11 a.m. PT) and Mt. SAC (3 p.m. PT). Palomar and Mt. SAC play the middle game at 1 p.m. PT.
The Aztecs finished 2015 with a 38-20 record, advancing to the NCAA Regional final for the third time since 2011 and fifth time in 11 tournament trips before being eliminated by UCLA. SDSU, one of just 20 schools in the country to play in a NCAA tournament at least eight consecutive years, finished the year with seven school records, including batting average (.312), slugging percentage (.486), runs (324), home runs (63), RBIs (293), total bases (758) and hits (484).
