Sarah Haydock moved up seven places on the final day of the California Invitational Heptathlon Thursday at Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, Calif.
Haydock, who entered the day in 48th place, ended up finishing 41st out of 50 entrants with a total of 3,481 points.
Haydock began the second day with a 41st-place effort in the long jump with a leap of 15 feet, 6 ¾ inches (4.74m). Next up was the javelin throw, which resulted in a 44th-place heave of 70-07 (21.52m). The final event of the seven-event competition was the 800 meters, where Haydock clocked a time of 2 minutes, 49.13 seconds, which was good enough for 39th.
The California Invitational Heptathlon was won by Kaylon Eppinger of World Athletics, who amassed 5,683 points.
Former Aztecs Allison Reaser and Nicole Oudenaarden were competing in the Mt. SAC Heptathlon, but the results were not final as of press time.
SDSU splits squads on Friday with some athletes competing at the Bryan Clay Invitational (9 a.m. PT) in Azusa and others at the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays (10 a.m. PT) in Walnut, Calif.
