Aztec Story Lines
- The San Diego State women's lacrosse team looks to get back to its winning ways this weekend, as the Aztecs head to Northern California for Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) contests against No. 15/13 Stanford on Friday, April 17, beginning at 7 p.m. PT, before taking on UC Davis on Sunday, April 19, at noon PT. Live stats for each game will be available on GoAztecs.com.
- SDSU (8-5, 4-2 MPSF) is currently third in the conference standings, just behind its upcoming opponent Stanford (9-2, 5-0). The Aztecs are coming off consecutive conference home defeats last weekend to Denver, 17-10, on Friday and Colorado, 7-6, on Sunday. It's only the second time this season the Aztecs have lost two-straight games, and it was also their first two home losses of the season.
- San Diego State is 4-3 this season away from Aztec Lacrosse Field, with its last road game being a thrilling victory over Brown, 13-12, on March 31. It's only other contest against a ranked opponent this year came on the road against No. 4/4 Florida to open the season on Feb. 20.
- Sunday's loss to Colorado was SDSU's first loss this season when scoring first (5-1), its first loss this season when holding the opposition to fewer than 10 goals (5-1) and first loss this season in a one-goal game (2-1).
- In addition, Sunday snapped an eight-game winning streak when leading in any point of a game (8-2), an eight-game run when holding the edge in draw controls (6-1), a seven-game streak when outshooting its opponent (7-1), and a four-game surge when having the advantage in groundballs (4-2).
- Meanwhile, Friday's loss to Denver was the Aztecs second defeat this season when scoring 10 goals (8-2), and snapped a four-game winning streak when scoring last in a game (4-3).
- Senior midfielder Christina Ricciardulli (Poway, Calif.) continues to be an impact player on both ends of the field for San Diego State, recording a program-record-tying eight draw controls along with three caused turnovers, three groundballs and a goal on Friday against Denver. On Sunday, the senior midfielder finished with four of the team's eight draw controls, two groundballs, a caused turnover and a goal.
- Ricciardulli leads the Aztecs in goals (29), draw controls (51), groundballs (30), total shots (59) and shots on goal (50), while she's second in caused turnovers (11). She ranks seventh in the MPSF in goals per game (2.23), second in free-position goals per game (1.08), third in draw controls per game (3.92), fourth in groundballs per game (2.31) and fifth in shots per game (4.54).
- Senior Lauren Maack (Coronodo, Calif.) leads San Diego State this season with 19 assists and is tied with fellow senior Michaela Jarvis (Annapolis, Md.) with a team-high 32 points. Maack is currently fourth in the conference in assists per game (1.46), while Jarvis is fifth (1.31).
- Senior defender Lauren Paul (Grasonville, Md.) leads the team and is fifth in MPSF in caused turnovers per contest (1.31).
- The Aztecs rank third in MPSF and 23rd in the nation in goals per contest (12.85), third the conference in points per game (18.38), third in shots (27.54), second in groundballs (16.54) and fourth in assists (5.54). In addition, SDSU is second in the conference and 10th in the country in draw controls per game (14.46).
- San Diego State is looking for its first-ever win against Stanford, as the Aztecs are 0-3 all-time against the Cardinal, with two of the losses coming on the road. SDSU is 1-2 all-time against UC Davis, after defeating the Aggies, 17-8, at home last season on March 16.

Stanford
The Cardinal are 9-2 overall this season and 5-0 in MPSF play after earning a road victory over Saint Mary's, 22-2, on April 12. Stanford has won four games in a row, each coming against conference opponents, as the Cardinal are currently second in the MPSF standings behind USC (10-3, 6-0). Stanford leads the MPSF in goals per game (15.64), assists per game (6.82), points per game (22.45), shots per game (29.73), shots on goal per game (24) shot percentage (.526) and draw controls per game (15.82). Junior Lucy Dikeou leads the Cardinal with 23 goals, 31 points and 36 draw controls, while she's tied for the team lead with 19 groundballs. Senior Hannah Farr is second in points (27) and goals (18), and senior Rachel Ozer is third with 25 points on 16 goals with nine assists. Stanford finished last season 14-5 overall and 7-2 in conference play en route to losing to Denver in the MPSF Tournament championship game, before falling to Duke in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Cardinal are coached by Amy Bokker, who is in her seventh year at the head of the program. She was previously head coach at George Mason for 11 seasons and an assistant for the 2009 Canadian national team that featured Aztec head coach Kylee White, after being a two-time all-conference selection and All-American as a player at William and Mary.
UC Davis
The Aggies enter Friday's contest at USC 3-10 overall this season, but are 2-3 in MPSF play and have won two of their last three games. UC Davis finished 8-8 last season, but missed the MPSF Tournament with a 3-6 mark in conference play. Senior Elizabeth Landry leads the Aggies with 36 goals, nine assists, 45 points and 64 draw controls, as she broke the conference career-record with 227 draw controls. UC Davis is coached by Kate Henwood, who is in her third season at the helm after coaching at the high school level and being the top assistant at Villanova. She was also a four-year starter as a player at La Salle.
