SAN DIEGO - Madison Gipson won the open 400 meters and two others posted all-time San Diego State top-10 marks to lead the Aztecs on the second day of the 37th annual Aztec Invitational Friday atop the AzTrack in San Diego.

Gipson beat out 26 other entrants in the 400 with a time of 56.28 seconds in SDSU's lone home meet of the season.

Elaine Ribeiro and Freja Liljedahl also shined for SDSU. Ribeiro took second in the 3,000-meter invitational steeplechase with a time of 11:19.15, which ranks No. 6 in program history, while Liljedahl logged the fourth-best hammer throw at San Diego State with a heave of 172 feet, 6 inches (52.59m). Liljedahl took third in the invitational portion of the event.

Tyra Lea added a third-place finish in the open 200 in 24.73, while Lily Seynaeve came in third in the invitational 3K (10:20.05).

Ellison Grove (57.99, open 400), Jasmine Young (1:06.07, 400 hurdles) and Victoria Dickerson (171-00 (52.13m), hammer throw) all took fourth in their respective events, and Cassidy Towner came in seventh in the open 5K in 18:03.24.

Bonnie Draxler finished eighth in the open 100 in a wind-aided 12.27, while Hannah Sawatzki took 10th in the open 3K in 10:55.76.

Sarah Haydock, meanwhile, completed the final three events of the heptathlon and finished 10th overall with 3,350 points.

The final day of the 37th annual Aztec Invitational gets underway for San Diego State at 10 a.m. PT with the invitational discus throw and concludes with the invitational 4x400-meter relay at 4:10 p.m. PT.
