SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's golf team continues its spring schedule this week when it heads north to the San Fernando Valley to compete in the sixth annual Bruin Wave Invitational, March 2-3, in Tarzana, Calif.

The first two rounds of the 54-hole tournament are scheduled to commence Monday with an 8 a.m. PT shotgun start on the par-72, 6,173-yard El Caballero Country Club, with the final 18 holes to be completed on Tuesday with tee times as early as 7:30 a.m. A live scoring link courtesy of Golfstat will be available for both days on GoAztecs.com.

The No. 27 Aztecs are among nine schools in the elite 15-team field ranked in the Golfstat top 50. Along with tournament co-hosts UCLA (5) and Pepperdine (27), SDSU will battle No. 3 Washington, 13th-ranked Stanford, No. 15 Oklahoma State, 30th-ranked Baylor, No. 38 California and 40th-ranked Colorado. In addition, the Scarlet and Black will square off against Mountain West foe New Mexico, while Georgia, Long Beach State, Oregon State, San Francisco and Washington State round out the list of competing squads.

Fourth-year Aztec head coach Leslie Spalding will utilize the starting lineup of sophomore Sirene Blair (South Jordan, Utah), junior Emma Henrikson (Malmö, Sweden), freshman Mila Chaves (Asuncion, Paraguay), senior Paige Spiranac (Scottsdale, Ariz.) and freshman Georgia Lacey (Del Mar, Calif.).

Henrikson, who checks in at No. 50 in the latest Golfstat individual rankings, was SDSU's top finisher at last year's tournament where she tied for 16th out of 86 golfers after posting a combined 9-over 225. Blair, meanwhile, landed in the 45th position at 19-over 235, followed by Spiranac, who tied for 52nd after shooting a collective 22-over 238 as the Aztecs finished 13th in the team standings.

SDSU is coming off an eighth-place performance in its first event of the 2015 spring campaign at the UC Irvine Invitational, Feb. 23-24, at Santa Ana Country Club, where Chaves tied for 18th on the individual leaderboard with a combined 2-over 218.

El Caballero Country Club will play host to the Bruin Wave Invitational for the fourth year in a row. The Aztecs boasted the individual winner in 2012 as Christine Wong took home medalist honors with a combined 3-over 219. In 2010 and 2011, the tournament was held at Robinson Ranch Golf Club in Santa Clarita, Calif.

Following the Bruin Wave Invite, San Diego State return to the fairways on Wednesday, March 11, for a dual match against Yale at Torrey Pines, starting at 1:30 p.m. PT.
