ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The San Diego State track and field team completed its third and final day of competition at the Mountain West Indoor Championships Saturday at Albuquerque, N.M.

The Aztecs, who won the meet in 2013, finished third out of 11 teams over the three-day competition with 81.50 points. New Mexico (149), the reigning 2014 champions, finished in first for the second consecutive year and Colorado State (96) came in second. Final results came in at UNLV (78), Wyoming (52), Utah State (45), Boise State (40.50), Fresno State (33.50), Nevada (34.50), Air Force (33) and San Jose State (17).

Micha Auzenne earned 10 points for the Aztecs in the 60-meter hurdles, placing her in first with a time of 8.21. The first-place finish breaks a 1999 record set by Miesha McKelvy (8.24) and makes her the top-ranked athlete in SDSU's all-time record book. The sophomore continued her success in the open 60 meters, running in 7.38 which ties for third-fastest in SDSU all-time history. Fellow Aztec teammate, sophomore Madison Gipson ran 8.60, six seconds faster than her 8.66 performance at last year's MW Indoor Championships.

In the shot put event, senior Jasmine Burrell (49-07.75) finished in fifth place while sophomore Rachel Alesi (47-11.75) threw a season-best, moving her to No. 5 on SDSU's all-time rankings. Sophomore Ariel Oliver (44-07.00), meanwhile, came in 12th among 18 total participants.

Freshmen Ashley Henderson (24.09) and Jazmen Bunch (24.28) both earned a spot on the podium, each improving on their personal best this year and making it among the Top 10 in SDSU history in the 200 meters.

Ensuing the 400-meter final event, sophomore Tyra Lea came in fifth with a time of 55.50 after qualifying in yesterday's prelims, just ahead of former SDSU athlete Shanieka Thomas's 55.67 in the SDSU all-time rankings.

The 3,000-meter run closed out the competition for the Aztecs where Elaine Rebeiro came in 28th in 10:49.46.

SDSU will await a list of qualifiers for the NCAA Indoor Championships, which will be revealed at a later date on NCAA.org. The NCAA Championships take place on March 13-14 in Fayetteville, Ark.
