SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men's tennis team got back to its winning ways on Sunday afternoon, defeating Pacific, 6-1, at Aztec Tennis Center.

After dropping the doubles point to begin the match, SDSU (4-3, 0-1 MW) swept singles action to improve to 4-0 at home this season and win its sixth-straight overall at Aztec Tennis Center. In addition, the Aztecs defeated Pacific (0-8) for the 12th time in 15 meetings all-time.

Sophomore Marko Goles-Babic (Zagreb, Croatia) earned San Diego State's first point of the day with his No. 4 singles victory over Jose Chamba, 6-4, 6-3, while sophomore Hendrik Jebens (Stuttgart, Germany) followed with a No. 3 singles win against Sem Verbeek, 6-0, 6-3.

Senior Andranik Khachatryan (Burbank, Calif.) topped Ashwin Sharma, 6-4, 6-3, on the No. 5 singles court to pull the Aztecs within one point of clinching the dual victory, and junior Freddy Gelbrich (Isernhagen, Germany) sealed the win with a decision over Miguel Diaz, 6-4, 6-2, in No. 1 singles action.

In addition, senior Thorsten Bertsch (Mannheim, Germany) knocked off Alex Hamilton in three sets on the No. 2 court, 6-3, 6-7 (8), 10-3, while sophomore Milen Ianakiev (Elz, Germany) pulled out a three-set win against Bernardo Oliveira, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2, to conclude singles play.

In doubles action, San Diego State's No. 1 duo of Gelbrich and Jebens improved to 6-1 this dual season with a victory over Diaz and Chamba, 6-1, to begin the day. However, the Aztecs' No. 3 unit of Khachatryan and sophomore Jonas Meinzer (Buggingen, Germany) dropped its decision to Hamilton and Alex Giannini, 6-2, and the No. 2 team of Bertsch and Goles-Babic fell short against Verbeek and Marlon Brand, 6-3, as the Tigers won the doubles point.

The Aztecs return to the court on Wednesday, Feb. 18, when they hit the road to face No. 48 Pepperdine on Feb. 18, before returning home to play host to No. 23 South Carolina on Feb. 20.
