LOS ANGELES - The San Diego State divers wrapped up competition at the UCLA Invitational Monday afternoon with the Aztecs placing two among the top 10 in the finals. A total of 36 athletes representing nine schools participated on the platform with the top 12 in the prelims advancing to the finals session.

For the third day in a row it was freshman Alexandra Caplan who led SDSU, this time finishing seventh overall. She turned in a score of 229.50 in the prelims, a mark that put her in seventh after the first six dives. The score was the sixth-best ever for an Aztec diver on the platform. She followed that up with a 214.40 in the finals to retain her seventh-place standing.

Fellow freshman Makena Chamoures also qualified for the finals after finishing 10th in the prelims with a mark of 204.90, a score that goes into the Aztec record book as the eight-best in the history of the program. Chamoures would go on to finish 12th overall after posting a 192.30 during the finals session.

Four other SDSU divers also took part on the platform on Monday. That quartet included Isabelle Choquehuanca (182.85 - 21st), Payton Gabris (166.80 - 28th), Nicole Dutton (158.5 - 32nd) and Shannon Finigan (157.10 - 33rd).
