MALIBU, Calif. - San Diego State men's tennis senior Thorsten Bertsch (Mannheim, Germany) and sophomore Marko Goles-Babic (Zagreb, Croatia) each suffered losses on Sunday in the USTA/ITA Southwest Regional Round of 16 at Pepperdine University's Ralph-Straus Tennis Center.

Bertsch, ranked No. 122 in the nation and the bracket's No. 8-seed, came up short in a competitive match against No. 9-seed Martin Redlicki of UCLA, 7-5, 6-4. Goles-Babic suffered a close loss to the tournament's No. 4-seed and No. 47th-ranked Max de Vroome of USC, 6-4, 7-6. The duo were the final two Aztecs competing in this weekend's tournament.

San Diego State concludes its fall season at the ITA National Indoor Championships, beginning Nov. 6, in Flushing Meadows, N.Y.
