SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men's tennis team will host its annual SDSU Fall Invitational this weekend at Aztec Tennis Center, beginning on Friday, Oct. 3, beginning at 10 a.m. PT. There will be three flights of singles brackets, while the doubles bracket is also set to begin on Friday.

San Diego State, Arizona, Loyola Marymount, Denver, University of San Diego, UC San Diego and Grand Canyon will each have individual players competing in the tournament. Aztec sophomores Milen Ianakiev (Elz, Germany), Jonas Meinzer (Buggingen, Germany), Saxon Buehning (Essex Fells, N.J.) and freshman Santiago Cevallos (Querétaro, Mexico) will each make their fall debuts this weekend.

Ianakiev went 10-10 overall in 2013-14, including an 8-8 mark during the dual season with seven victories on either the No. 5 or No. 6 court. Meinzer split two dual matches in the spring, both in the No. 6 singles slot, while Beuhning was 5-7 overall and 2-3 in 2014 dual play as a freshman at Alabama. Cevallos has a career 48-46 record in ITF singles competition, and is a former national champion in Mexico.

SDSU is coming off a 12-12 dual season last spring, as the Aztecs went 3-1 in Mountain West play and made an appearance in the MW semifinals.
