SAN DIEGO - San Diego State women's lacrosse players Isabelle Pickett (Adelaide, Australia) and Falon Manns (Mason, Ohio) were both named to the 2014 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division I Academic Honor Roll, the association announced on Tuesday.
Student-athletes are eligible for the honor by having a cumulative academic grade point average of 3.50 or greater, In addition to also being at least junior academically. Pickett, a psychology major with a 3.85 GPA, was a senior during the 2014 season, while Manns, who had a 3.73 GPA in mechanical engineering, was a junior last season.
Last week, San Diego State was named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Squad after posting a 3.0 team GPA for the 2013-14 academic year. At the conclusion of the 2014 season, Pickett was one of five Aztecs named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) all-Academic Scholar Athlete.
SDSU made its first-ever postseason appearance in 2014, in only the third season of the program's history. In the process, the Aztecs set new team records for most conference victories (4), most road victories (4) and most conference player of the week honors (6). In addition, the Aztecs played four teams that made 2014 the NCAA Tournament and six teams who at least received votes in either the IWLCA Coaches Poll or the Brine Women's Media Poll.
