San Diego State's Shanieka Thomas completed her storied career with a second-place finish in the triple jump at the Jamaican National Championships Sunday in Kingston, Jamaica.

Thomas took second with a leap of 44 feet, 5 ¼ inches (13.54 meters), while Kimberly Williams captured the title with a mark of 46-02.00 (14.07m).

Thomas, who on Tuesday was named a semifinalist for The Women's Bowerman Trophy, which is given out to the top collegiate track and field athlete in the country, finished her Aztec career with three NCAA Championships in the triple jump (2013-14 outdoor, 2014 indoor) and two runner-up finishes (2012 outdoor, 2013 indoor), and was a seven-time USTFCCCA All-American and a nine-time MW champion. Thomas, a three-time USTFCCCA West Region Field Athlete of the Year and the defending MW Female Athlete of the Year, was undefeated in the triple jump against collegiate competition over the entire 2014 indoor and outdoor season.

Whitney Ashley, meanwhile, took fifth in the discus throw at the USA Championships in Sacramento, Calif., today with a toss of 192-06 (58.68m). Competing unattached, Ashley graduated from SDSU in 2012 and was the 2012 NCAA champion in the discus. Nike's Gia Lewis-Smallwood won the competition with a mark of 216-05 (65.96m).
