The 11th-ranked San Diego State track and field team will looks for its fourth consecutive title this weekend at the Cal/Nevada Championships. The two-day meet, hosted by UC San Diego, will take place Friday (April 4) and Saturday (April 5) at Triton Track & Field Stadium in La Jolla, Calif.

Last year, the Aztecs finished with 166 points, easily outdistancing Nevada's 136.50, despite not having eventual NCAA champion Shanieka Thomas compete in the triple jump. Allison Reaser was named the Track Athlete of the Meet last year, while head coach Shelia Burrell garnered Coach-of-the-Meet accolades. SDSU has won eight Cal/Nevada titles since 2001.

San Diego State will send 30 athletes to this year's meet, including Rachel Alesi (discus throw, javelin throw), Brittany Bozeman (100 hurdles, long jump, shot put, javelin throw), Kristen Brown (100 hurdles, pole vault), Jasmine Burrell (shot put, discus throw, hammer throw), Alexa Evans (discus throw, hammer throw), Janice George (200, 400, 4x400), Madison Gipson (200, 100 hurdles, 4x400), Brittany Gonter (shot put, discus throw), Renetia James (400, 4x400), Chelsea Kruthers (800, 1,500), Ariel Oliver (shot put, discus throw), Nicole Oudenaarden (shot put, javelin throw), Reaser (100 hurdles, 400 hurdles, long jump), Starlynn Singleton (100, long jump, triple jump), Karsen Sper (100 hurdles, high jump) and Maderia Toatley (200, 400, 4x400) in multiple events.

Also competing for the Aztecs are Dynasty Gammage (800), Grace Hanshaw (10,000), Marianne Hogan (5,000), Mikayla Howden (hammer throw), Freja Liljedahl (hammer throw), Lily Mayko (400 hurdles), Jessica McCall (5,000), Elaine Ribeiro (5,000), Rachel Roesgen (5,000), Kortney Ross (pole vault), Hannah Sawatzki (5,000), Karen Snapper (pole vault), Shanieka Thomas (long jump) and Thresa Vinson (pole vault).

The prelims of the 100 hurdles kicks things off for SDSU at 1:15 p.m. PT Friday, while the 10,000 meters concludes the first day at 5:20 p.m. PT. On Saturday, the hammer throw starts at 11 a.m. PT with the 4x400-meter relay ending the meet at 4:25 p.m. PT.
