COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A trio of San Diego State divers participated on the 1-meter springboard on the opening day of the 2014 NCAA Zone E Diving Meet being held at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. Two freshmen and a sophomore are representing SDSU in the met that includes the top collegiate divers in the western U.S.
In a field of 61 competitors in the 1-meter event, Aztec freshman Marlee Kersting placed 43rd with a score of 222.65. Sophomore Chandler Marshall finished 57th at 187.95 with first-year Aztec Shannon Finigan ending the day in 59th place after scoring 180.05 points.
Competition at the Zone E Meet continues on Friday (Mar. 14) with prelims on the 3-meter board scheduled to get underway at 11:00 a.m. (MT) and the finals slated to start at 2:00 p.m. The platform diving will be conducted on Saturday (Mar. 15), again with the prelims commencing at 1:00 a.m. and the finals starting at 12:50 p.m.
