SAN DIEGO -
The San Diego State football team and UCLA have agreed to start a home-and-home series beginning in 2019, the two schools announced Thursday.
The Aztecs and Bruins will first play at The Rose Bowl on Sept. 7, 2019. UCLA will return the favor on Sept. 19, 2020 with a game vs. SDSU at Qualcomm Stadium.
The two teams last met on Sept. 5, 2009 in the season opener for both schools with the Bruins coming away with a 33-14 victory.
Last year, UCLA went 10-3 (6-3 Pac-12), culminating in a 42-12 win over Virginia Tech in the El Paso Bowl on Dec. 31.
The future series announcement gives San Diego State at least one game in every season up to 2020 and one game each against a Pac-12 school until 2020.
The Aztecs are coming off an 8-5 season (6-2 Mountain West) in 2013, ending in a 49-24 victory over Buffalo in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl on Dec. 21. It was SDSU's school-record fourth consecutive bowl game appearance.
San Diego State begins its 2014 season on Aug. 30 at home against Northern Arizona.
SDSU is accepting new account deposits on 2014 season tickets through the Aztec Ticket Office. Additionally, current season-ticket holders can renew their tickets for the 2014 season.
