USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Allison Reaser shattered her school record in the pentathlon to pace the San Diego State track and field team on the first day of the Mountain West Indoor Championships Thursday at USAF Academy, Colo.

Reaser, who had won all six multi-event titles (2011-13 indoor pentathlon, 2011-13 outdoor heptathlon) at the MW Championships coming into the weekend, totaled 4,145 points en route to finishing second behind Utah State's Chari Hawkins (4,173). Reaser's 4,145 easily broke her record of 3,971, which was set last year at the MW indoor meet. Prior to this weekend, only three athletes in the country had posted a higher total than Hawkins and Reaser.

Nicole Oudenaarden, meanwhile, came in third at 3,918 and Karsen Sper was sixth at 3,538 in the 12-athlete competition.

The Aztecs, who won last year's MW Indoor Championships, are in first place this year with 17 points, followed by Utah State (10), New Mexico (5), Wyoming (4), Colorado State (2) and UNLV (1). Five other teams have yet to accumulate a point.

Reaser started things off on a good note for SDSU by winning the 60-meter hurdles in a blistering time of 8.30 seconds, which was the fourth-fastest time in school history. Sper was fourth in 8.79, while Oudenaarden came in eighth in 8.96.

Oudenaarden then won the shot put in 43-04.50 (13.22m), while Reaser was sixth (37-09.25 (11.51m)) and Sper 10th (33-00.50 (10.07m).

Reaser came through again in the long jump with a leap of 20-05.00 (6.22m), which was the second-best mark in program history. Oudenaarden followed in second in 19-00.75 (5.81m) and Sper was sixth in 17-03.50 (5.27m).

Ending the day was the 800, where Reaser was second in 2:25.23, Oudenaarden sixth in 2:27.93 and Sper seventh in 2:29.12.
