COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State divers competed on both the 1-meter springboard and the platform during day one of the Air Force Diving Invitational Friday in Colorado Springs, Colo
The meet, featuring divers from 16 schools including seven Mountain West teams, is the Aztecs' final tune-up prior to the conference championships in just over two weeks.
SDSU sophomore Chandler Marshall was the Aztecs' top finisher as her score of 216.55 put her in 31st place out of 55 competitors. She was followed by teammates Ashley Stott (209.60 - 35th), Shannon Finigan (205.50 - 41st) and Marlee Kersting (300.85 - 44th). The event was won by Madison Hudkins of Texas A&M with a point total of 297.95.
Finigan was the lone Aztec diver to compete on the platform Friday evening, She placed 35th of 40 divers with a mark of 152.30. Jessica Macauley of Texas A&M captured first place with a score of 275.65.
The San Diego State divers will continue actin on Saturday (Feb. 1) with the 3-meter board prelims getting underway at 11:25 a.m. (MT).
