COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State swimmer Maddy Dalcamo has earned Mountain West Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week honor for competition from Oct. 30-Nov. 5, 2013. It is the first Mountain West weekly honor for the SDSU junior.
Dalcamo, from Olathe, Kan., led San Diego State to a 156.5-138.5 win over TCU last Friday (Nov. 1) in Fort Worth, Texas. During the dual meet at TCU, she won a pair of individual events (50 and 100 freestyle) and was a member of two winning relay teams.
Dalcamo won the 50 freestyle in 23.94 and then after a break for diving came back and won the 100 free (52.41). She had begun the meet by swimming the anchor leg of the 200 medley relay as her team recorded a two-second win over the seond-place squad with a time of 1:44.85.
Dalcamo concluded the meet by anchoring the 400 free relay that went 3:26.11 and finished almost six seconds ahead of the second-place team.
San Diego State will next be in action during the weekend of Nov. 21-23 when it participates in the annual Arena Invitational to be held at East Los Angeles College in Monterey Park, Calif. The Aztec divers will see their first invitational action of the season that same weekend when they compete at the Arizona Diving Invitational Nov. 22.24 at the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center in Tucson, Ariz.
