Student-athletes fall into three different levels (Outstanding, Superior and Excellent) when being recognized by the ACWPC. Oustanding honorees have grade-point averages between 4.00 and 3.71, Superior team members have GPAs between 3.70 and 3.41, while those named to the Excellent squad own GPAs between 3.40 and 3.20.
Sophomores Anique Hermann and Juliana Matos were each named to the Superior list, while senior Alex Ford and sophomore Carina Carballo both landed on the Excellent list.
A year ago, Hermann became the fourth Aztec in program history to earn Outstanding accolades. Ford is honored for the third-straight year after making the Superior list in 2012 and the Excellent list in 2011, while Carballo made the Superior list in 2012. It is the first season Matos has been honored.
SDSU is coming off its eighth-straight year of 20 or more victories after posting a 23-11 record. The Aztecs were also ranked in the top-8 nationally the entire regular season and twice rose as high as No. 6. San Diego State moves into the Golden Coast Conference for the 2014 season.
