LA JOLLA, Calif. - The 15th-ranked San Diego State track and field team won its third consecutive Cal/Nevada championship Saturday at UC San Diego in La Jolla, Calif.

The Aztecs finished with 166 points, easily outdistancing runner-up Nevada's 136.50 points. Sacramento State (109.50), UC Santa Barbara (83.50) and USC (67) rounded out the top five.

Allison Reaser and Kristen Brown each won an individual event on the final day of the two-day competition.

Reaser had a busy day, individually winning the 400-meter hurdles in 59.32 seconds, taking second in the 100 hurdles (13.88) and ninth in the open 100 (12.25).

For her efforts, Reaser was named the Track Athlete of the Meet, while head coach Shelia Burrell was named the Coach of the Meet.

Brown, meanwhile, won the 100 hurdles in 13.85 seconds.

Antonique Campbell, Deyna Roberson, LaQuisha Jackson and Maderia Toatley finished the day by winning the 4x400 in convincing fashion. The quartet won in 3:43.01, just over four seconds faster than runner-up UC Santa Barbara (3:47.02).

Alex Evans finished second in the triple jump at 39 feet, 10 ¾ inches (12.16m) and was ninth in the 100 hurdles (14.42), while Nicole Oudenaarden came in fifth in the 400 (56.61) and sixth in the shot put (45-04.25 (13.82m)).

Other SDSU athletes who scored on the final day of the competition included Shanieka Thomas in the 400 (second, 55.60), Jasmine Burrell in the hammer throw (third, 176-11 (53.93m)), which was No. 3 all-time at San Diego State, Thoraya Maronsey in the triple jump (third, 39-07.75 (12.08m)), Roberson in the 400 hurdles (third, 1:00.71), Chelsea Kruthers in the 800 (fifth, 2:12.37) and Toatley in the 200 (sixth, 24.85).

The Aztecs are back in action next Saturday (April 6) at the Cal State San Marcos Mangrum Invitational in San Marcos, Calif.
