COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State junior outfielder Patrice Jackson was named the Mountain West Player of the Week for games through March 17, the league announced Tuesday. It is the first weekly award for Jackson this season.

Jackson helped the Aztecs to a 7-0 record last week, including a 5-0 mark at the San Diego Classic II to earn co-champion honors. The Kansas City, Mo., native went 11-for-20 (.550) at the plate with four home runs, 13 RBI, seven runs scored, four walks and three doubles. Jackson finished with slugging and on-base percentages of 1.300 and .615, respectively, over the seven-game span. She recorded a hit in each of the first six games, including four multi-hit and four multi-RBI contests.

On Tuesday, Jackson was 2-for-4 with two RBI, one double and one run scored in a 10-7 win over Iona. She went 2-for-3 with an RBI-double in a 13-0, five-inning win over Miami (OH) on Wednesday. In Thursday's tournament-opening action, Jackson was 3-for-3 with a grand slam, five RBI, two runs scored and two walks in a 13-6 victory over Bryant College. Against San Jose State later that day, she had one double and one walk in the team's 2-0 win.

To begin the weekend on Friday, Jackson contributed a solo home run and sacrifice fly in a 4-2 victory over Buffalo. Then in Sunday's 9-0 win over Seton Hall, Jackson was 2-for-3 with two home runs, three RBI and three runs scored. Defensively, she tallied four putouts and one assist with one error from her outfield position.

Jackson is the fourth Aztec to earn MW Player-of-the-Week honors this season following in the footsteps of Kristin May (March 6), Rebecca Arbino (Feb. 12) and Lorena Bauer (Feb. 12).

San Diego State returns to action on March 28, when it opens a three-game set vs. MW foe New Mexico at SDSU Softball Stadium. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. PT.
