SAN DIEGO - San Diego State sophomore Jasmine Burrell took first place in the discus with a toss of 52.97-meters on Day 3 of the 35th Aztec Track and Field Invitational on Saturday.
Senior Thoraya Maronsey finished third in the triple jump with a leap of 11.75, while junior Kristen Brown was fourth and Kelsy Hintz took fifth place in the pole vault at 3.88-meters. Senior Alex Evans was seventh in the long jump (5.44), and senior Brittany Bozeman finished tied for eighth (5.40). In addition, senior Carrington Mahr took eighth in the high jump at 1.65-meters.
In the running events, senior Deyna Robinson was third in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1-minute, 00.74-seconds, just behind first place Stephanie Jolley of Utah (1:00.00). Brown took fourth in the 100 hurdles at 14.17-seconds, while Evans was eighth (14.67). Senior Josefine Koskinen (2:12.02) earned a seventh-place finish in the 800, and the Aztecs 4x400 hurdles relay team of freshman Renetia James, freshman Antonique Campbell, Roberson and Toatley claimed fourth place with a time of 3:45.30.
Next up for San Diego State is the Cal/Nevada Championships beginning on March 29 in La Jolla, Calif.
