SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men's golf team resumes its spring schedule this week when it travels to the greater Los Angeles area for the North Ranch Intercollegiate, Feb. 25-26, in Westlake Village, Calif. The 54-hole tournament, formerly known as the USC Invitational, will be conducted on the par-71, 6,753-yard North Ranch Country Club, with the Aztecs returning as two-time defending champions.

A total of 12 schools will participate in the 35th annual event, which begins Monday with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. PT. In addition to SDSU, the competitive field features co-hosts Pepperdine and USC, along with Arizona State, Brigham Young, Liberty, Lipscomb, the University of San Diego, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara and Western Kentucky.

The Aztecs will be paired with USC and WKU for the first two rounds on Monday, with the final 18 holes to be contested on Tuesday. Live scoring for both days will be available on Golfstat.com.

SDSU head coach Ryan Donovan will bring seven golfers to the Conejo Valley, including the starting lineup of Tom Berry (New Haw, Surrey, England), Riccardo Michelini (Carpi, Italy), Xander Schauffele (San Diego, Calif.), Austin Kaiser (Atascadero, Calif.) and James Holley (Chatsworth, Calif.). In addition, Kevin Ko (Coquitlam, British Columbia) and Robert Gojuangco (San Diego, Calif.) will compete as individuals.

The Aztecs are coming off a 12th-place finish at The Prestige at PGA WEST in their first spring tournament a week ago, as Michelini tied for 33rd on the individual leaderboard after posting a combined 7-over 220.

Berry, meanwhile, leads SDSU with a 72.40 stroke average through 15 rounds this season, which ranks 10th in the Mountain West. The Aztec senior is the lone holdover from last year's squad that captured the team title at North Ranch, where he tied for 34th out of 72 golfers after recording a collective 18-over 228.

Following its excursion to Westlake Village, SDSU will have a week off before playing host to the San Diego Intercollegiate Classic, March 11-12, at San Diego Country Club in Chula Vista, Calif.
