ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The San Diego State swimming and diving team concluded its weekend triple dual meet in Albuquerque with wins over host New Mexico, Colorado State and New Mexico State. The three victories allowed SDSU to improve to 5-0 overall on the season and 3-0 in Mountain West Competition.

Final scores for the two-day dual meets included 168-149 over New Mexico, 179-143 over Colorado State and 192-130 over New Mexico State. The Aztecs dominated all three head-to-head competitions and chose not to score points in four of the final six swimming events.

On a day that began with a first-place showing in the 200 medley relay, San Diego State would go on to capture the top spot in all eight of the morning's races. The foursome of Maddy Dalcamo, Katelyn Weddle, Loreen Whitfield and Emily Jennings won that 200 medley relay event in 1:44.51.

The Aztecs then went one-two in the 1000 freestyle with Melanie Garibaldi taking first in 10:18.37 and teammate Kelly Marquenie second in 10:26.29.

SDSU then captured the top three places in the 200 freestyle led by Mikael Macklin's first-place showing in 1:151.95, a time that is the 9ninth-fastest in school history. She was followed by Natilee Ruiz (1:53.35) and Meghan Zimmer (1:54.57).

The Aztecs' other first-place finishes included Jennings in both the 100 backstroke (56.91) and 50 freestyle (24.02), Katelyn Weddle in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.37) and Garibaldi in the 200 butterfly (2:07.83).

The swimmers ended their day by recoding a win in the 400 freestyle relay as the quartet of Mikaela Macklin, Dalcamo, Zimmer and Savannah Miller went 3:29.91.

In the diving competition, Anna Steiner was fourth of 13 divers in both the 1-meter (259.30) and 3-meter (294.20) boards. Her score on the 3-meter was good enough to qualify for the 2013 Zone Regional.

Up next for San Diego State swimmers is the annual three-day Arena Invitational Nov. 15-17 in Long Beach, Calif. The SDSU divers will be in action that same weekend at the Wildcat Diving Invitational hosted by Arizona in Tucson Nov. 16-18.
