2013 Lacrosse Schedule

SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego State lacrosse team has released its schedule for the 2013 season, head coach Kylee White announced today. SDSU will play 16 games in its second-ever collegiate season, including eight contests at Aztec Lacrosse Field.

SDSU kicks off its 2013 campaign on Feb. 16 in Jacksonville, Fla., with a contest against Jacksonville University. It will be an early test for the Aztecs as the Dolphins are the reigning 2012 National Lacrosse Conference champions. Up next for San Diego State will be a trip to nearby DeLand, Fla., as Stetson University will play host to the Aztecs on Feb. 17 in the second game of the Hatters' inaugural season.

San Diego State then begins a five-game homestand with its first Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) contest on Feb. 22 against Saint Mary's. Last season, the Aztecs knocked off the Gaels on two occasions. The first was an 11-10 victory on March 2, followed by a 13-12 league win on April 13.

Following the contest with Saint Mary's, the Aztecs play host to La Salle (March 8), LIU Brooklyn (March 10), Marquette (March 14) and Temple (March 16).

After a MPSF road game with Oregon (March 22) and a conference home contest with Denver (March 29), San Diego State travels to Columbus, Ohio to face Detroit in a neutral-site game on April 1, followed by a matchup with Ohio State on April 3. White played for the Buckeyes from 1999-2002, co-captaining the 2002 squad to an 11-5 mark, a runner-up finish in the American Lacrosse Conference and Ohio State's first NCAA bid.

Following its trip to Ohio, the Aztecs wrap up their three-game road trip with a contest at Fresno State on April 6. Last season, SDSU cruised to a 15-8 victory against the Bulldogs on March 20 to pick up its first-ever MPSF win.

The Aztecs then play their final league road games at UC Davis (April 19) and at Stanford (April 21), before ending its regular season by playing host to new MPSF member USC on April 27.

The MPSF Championship will follow from May 2-4, in Eugene, Ore.
