SAN DIEGO - San Diego State junior wide receiver Colin Lockett has been named to a pair of watch lists by the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA). Lockett was one of just nine tabbed to both the all-purpose trophy watch list and the kickoff returner trophy watch list.

The CFPA bases each annual honor on players' statistics and the level to which they help improve the overall success of their teams.

Along with 38 others, Lockett was named to the all-purpose trophy watch list and he was the lone honoree from the Mountain West. The Diamond Bar, Calif., native has already been selected to the Lindy's Sports 2012 preseason all-MW first-team as an all-purpose selection. Lockett led SDSU in receiving last year with 970 yards and his 74.6 receiving yards per game ranked fourth in the conference.

Lockett was also among 40 selected to the kick returner trophy watch list and one of just two football players from the MW as UNLV's Tim Cornett was also tabbed to the list. Lockett tallied 678 yards on special teams last year, including a 94-yard kickoff return touchdown in the season opener against Cal Poly.

The Aztecs get their 2012 season underway with a contest against Washington at 7:30 p.m. PT on Saturday, Sept. 1 at CenturyLink Field in Seattle.
