SAN DIEGO - Former San Diego State quarterback Ryan Lindley is set to throw out the first pitch prior to Thursday's San Diego Padres game vs. the Washington Nationals. The April 26 game at PETCO Park is set for a 7:05 p.m. PT start.
Lindley threw for 3,153 yards and 23 touchdowns in his final season at SDSU, capping off his year with 413 yards passing and three touchdowns in the New Orleans Bowl. The 6-foot-4, 230-pound signal-caller left San Diego State as the Aztecs' all-time career leader in several different offensive categories, including passing yards (12,690), touchdowns (90), total offense (12,415), completions (961) and quarterback starts (49).
This marks the third San Diego State student-athlete to throw out a first pitch in less than a year. SDSU men's basketball player Tim Shelton drew the honor earlier this month, as did D.J. Gay in May of last year.
Tickets to Thursday's game are available online at padres.com or the PETCO Park ticket office.
