The San Diego State track and field team looks to defend its title this weekend at the Cal/Nevada Championships. The two-day meet, hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges, will take place Saturday (March 31) and Sunday (April 1) at Burns Track and Field Complex in Claremont, Calif.

Last year, the Aztecs totaled 132 points, 10.5 more than runner-up Sacramento State (121.5). It was SDSU's first Cal/Nevada Championships title since 2008 and sixth since 2001. Whitney Ashley won both the shot put and discus, while Marianne Hogan captured the 10,000 meters.

San Diego State will send 19 athletes to the meet, including Heather Arseneau (pole vault), Ashley (shot put, discus throw, hammer throw), Jasmine Burrell (shot put, discus throw), Maya Carter (400 hurdles, 4x400 relay), Alex Evans (100 hurdles, long jump, triple jump), Brittany Gonter (shot put, discus throw), Ellie Fanaika (hammer throw), Kelsy Hintz (pole vault), Hogan (10,000), Kelsie Jarratt (pole vault), Kiersten Kirkland (400, 4x400 relay), Josefine Koskinen (800, 1,500, 4x400), Carrington Mahr (high jump, long jump), Thoraya Maronsey (triple jump), Allison Reaser (100 hurdles, 400 hurdles, long jump, javelin throw, 4x400 relay), Moriah Roberge (pole vault), Shanieka Thomas (long jump, triple jump, 4x400 relay), Rebecca Turnbow (pole vault) and Holly Waseloff (pole vault).

The javelin and long jump kick things off on Saturday for the Aztecs at 1 p.m. PT, while the 10,000 concludes the first day at 8:40 p.m. PT. On Sunday, the shot put starts at 11:30 a.m. PT, while the 4x400 relay ends the meet at 4:25 p.m. PT.

Last weekend, Reaser won the long jump and the 400 hurdles, and Roberge captured the pole vault at the Point Loma Nazarene Meet.
