San Diego State wrapped up the rain-shortened Aztec Invitational on Saturday. Only three Aztecs competed on the final day of the three-day meet before inclement weather forced the cancellation of the rest of events. Junior Josefine Koskinen finished 10th of 45 entrants in the invitational 1,500-meter run with a time of 4 minutes, 35.35 seconds to pace SDSU. It was just off her personal record (PR) of 4:34.37 and more than five seconds faster than last weekend's time (4:41.01) at the San Diego Championships.
Also on the track, classmate Marianne Hogan was 13th of 23 runners in the invitational 5,000 with a time of 17:57.56.
Sophomore Carrington Mahr, meanwhile, was the lone San Diego State athlete to finish a field event, tying for sixth in the invitational high jump. She cleared 5 feet, 3 inches.
The Aztecs have a weekend off before competing in the Cal/Nevada Championships on March 31-April 1. Last year, SDSU won the Cal/Nevada Championships with 132 points thanks in part to wins by Hogan in the 10,000, and Whitney Ashley in the shot put and discus throw.
