THIS WEEK
San Diego State travel to Oklahoma City this week to compete at the 2012 Mountain West Championships to be held Feb. 22-25 at Oklahoma City Community College.

HEAD COACH Mike Shrader
San Diego State head coach Mike Shrader is in his fifth season with the Aztecs and has compiled a dual meet record of 66-13 (.836) during his tenure. Shrader was named the Mountain West Coach of the Year each of the past three seasons (co-coach in 2009). Including eight seasons as the head coach at Nevada, his career record stands at 155-25-1 (.859).

LAST TIME OUT
San Diego State concluded its regular season with a 136.5-112.5 victory over the University of San Diego at the Aztec Aquaplex on Jan. 28. A total of 12 Aztecs won races during the meet with two swimmers capturing two events apiece. There was no diving competition due to the San Diego State divers participating at the Falcon Diving Invitational in Colorado Springs that weekend. Individual double winners for San Diego State included Katelyn Weddle and Mikaela Macklin. Weddle won both the 100 and 200 breast races with times of 1:04.47 and 2:18.05 respectively. Macklin, meanwhile, capture first in the 50 free (24.16) and 200 individual medley (2:05.15).

DIVER OF THE WEEK
Senior Kristen Meier was named the Mountain West Conference Diver of the week for her performance at the Falcon diving Invitational hosted by Air Force the weekend of Jan. 27-28. Meier won all three vents (1-meter, 3-meter and platform) at that meet. It was her sixth conferences award this season and the 10th of her two-year Aztec career.

SWIMMERS OF THE WEEK
Three Aztecs picked up Mountain West Swimmer of the Week Award during the 2011-12 season. That threesome included Stephanie Koch (Oct. 26), Kelly Marquenie (Jan. 11) and Katelyn Weddle (Jan. 28).

THE STREAK CONTINUES
With its victory over the University of San Diego on Jan. 28, SDSU has now won its last 38 straight dual meets dating back to the 2009-10 season. Its last loss came against Wyoming on Jan. 29, 2010, in Laramie. San Diego State also has a streak of 50 straight dual meet wins against non-conference opponents. The last loss to a non-MWC team was a defeat at North Texas on Nov. 17, 2006. In current Head Coach Mike Shrader's four seasons at SDSU, the Aztecs have not lost a dual meet to a non-conference foe.

MOUNTAIN WEST TOP TIMES
Five San Diego State swimmers own the conference's top times in five events for the 2011-12 season. Junior Meghan Zimmer has the Mountain West's top mark in the 500 freestyle (4:46.72) while sophomore Kelly Marquenie has the best time in the 100 freestyle (10:00.03). Leona Jennings has recorded the top time in the Mountain West in the 200 individual medley (1:59.87). Junior Melanie Garibaldi has the league's top marks in both the 1650 freestyle (16:45.30) and 400 individual medley (4:18.56).
