SAN DIEGO - San Diego State swimmers finished first in all 14 events as SDSU defeated the University of San Diego, 136.5-112.5, Saturday afternoon at the Aztec Aquaplex. With the win, SDSU finishes undefeated (15-0) in dual meet competition for the second straight year as it extends its unbeaten streak to 38 in a row.

A total of 12 Aztecs won races during the meet with two swimmers capturing two events apiece. There was no diving competition due to the San Diego State divers participating at the Falcon Diving Invitational in Colorado Springs this weekend.

The closest race of the day came in the 200 medley relay to open the meet. The team of Leona Jennings, Natalie Meltzer, Loreen Whitfield and Mikaela Macklin finished first in 1:45.74. That time was just one-hundredth of a second ahead of the Aztec foursome of Chelsea Bailey, Katelyn Weddle, Gemma Johnson and Shannon Bray. The two times rank as the ninth- and 10-fastest ever at the Aquaplex.

Chelsea Bailey won the 50 free with a mark of 51.32, the fifth-best time ever for an Aztec swimmer. In that same race, Kelly Marquenie went 51.91 to enter the record book with the ninth-best time in program history. Marquenie had won the 1000 freestyle (10:01.43) earlier in the meet as well.

Other SDSU first-place finishers included Meghan Zimmer in the 200 free (1:51.73), Berklie Oscarson in the 100 backstroke (58.44) and Dana Michaels in the 200 butterfly 92:06.56). Aztecs victories were also posted by Leona Jennings in the 200 backstroke (2:05.47), Melanie Garibaldi in the 500 freestyle (4:56.97) and Gemma Johnson in the 100 butterfly (55.70).

In the meet's final event, the foursome of Jennings, Stephanie Koch, Marquenie and Bailey went 3:28.02 to win the 400 free relay with a mark that enters the Aztec record list in the No. 10 spot.
