COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State senior Kristen Meier earned her second MW Diver of the Week honor of the season for competition from Oct. 31-Nov. 6, 2011. It is the sixth time that Meier has garnered the conference honor in her two seasons at SDSU.
Meier, from Walden, N.Y., took first place in the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events in the Aztecs' double dual meet last week against UC Davis and Colorado State. Meier earned a 1-meter Zone qualifying mark of 281.95, and 3-meter Zone qualifying mark of 354.45.
Her 3-meter score broke the San Diego State record, which she set last season, by over 20 points . That score also ranks second in the Conference this fall.
San Diego State will take the next two weeks to prepare for the annual Arena Invitational to be held in Long Beach, Calif., Nov. 17-19. That swimming event only meet, hosted by UC San Diego, features many of the top teams in the west including defending national champion California along with UCLA, Stanford and Arizona State.
That same weekend (Nov. 18-20), the SDSU divers will be in action at the Wildcat Diving Invitational hosted by the University of Arizona in Tucson.
