TUCSON, Ariz. - Aztec senior Kristen Meier placed eighth of 39 competitors in the platform event at the Wildcat Diving Invitational in Tucson, Ariz., Sunday afternoon as San Diego State concluded its run at the three-day meet.
Meier's score of 199.70 for her five dives placed just ahead of teammate Rafaella Suarez, who was ninth with 195.50 points. SDSU's third entrant, sophomore Anna Steiner, finished in 20th place with a score of 172.25.
Meier's eighth-place finish in the platform competition ended a highly successful weekend for the second-year Aztec from Walden, N.Y, as she finished second in three meter on Friday and took first in the one-meter diving on Saturday.
The San Diego State divers will return to action in two weeks as they compete in the team's dual meet against Mountain West foe New Mexico on Saturday, Dec. 3, at noon at the Aztec Aquaplex.
