Cross Country Wraps Up Season at NCAA Regionals

PALO ALTO, Calif. - The San Diego State cross country team wrapped up its season Saturday at the NCAA West Regionals on the Stanford Golf Course in Palo Alto, Calif.

The Aztecs were once again led by Marianne Hogan, who took 109th of 219 runners with a 6,000-meter time of 22 minutes, 18 seconds. Hogan has been SDSU's top finisher in each of the last 12 races, dating back to last season.

Josefine Koskinen was the second San Diego State runner to cross the finish line, taking 160th in 23:03. Taylor Johnson followed in 185th (23:35). Koskinen and Johnson have been the team's No. 2 and 3 runners in all six races this year.

Seanie Rigney was 197th in 24:04, while Niki Novak (207th, 24:30), Hannah Carman (214th, 25:16) and Amy Reaser (217th, 26:01) also finished for the Aztecs.

As a team, SDSU was 28th of 31 schools, the same showing it had at the 2010 NCAA West Regionals. San Diego State had 837 points to defeat Cal State Fullerton (29th, 859 points), St. Mary's (30th, 895) and Cal State Bakersfield (31st, 940 points). Washington won the meet with 50 points.
