SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - The San Diego State swimming and diving team completed a sweep of its weekend dual meets as it defeated Cal Poly, 180-112, Saturday morning at the Anderson Aquatic Center in San Luis Obispo. With the victory, the Aztecs are off to a 4-0 start after their first four meets of the 2011-12 campaign.

Over the course of the meet, SDSU turned in the top times in all 14 swimming events and also took first in both diving competitions. Along the way three individuals each captured a pair of events with eight others winning one race apiece. Also victorious were both of SDSU's relay teams as the Aztecs rolled to their 26th consecutive dual meet win.

Stephanie Koch was one of SDSU's individual double winners as she won both the 50 and 100 freestyle with times of 24.38 and 56.39 respectively. She was also a member of both winning relay teams.

The 200 medley relay foursome of Koch, Chelsea Bailey, Katelyn Weddle and Gemma Johnson opened the meet by winning in a time of 1:46.31. The 400 free relay team that consisted of Koch, Bailey, Jessica Crider and Meghan Zimmer later finished off the afternoon by winning in a time of 3:34.07.

Junior Emily Jennings was also a double winner for San Diego State, taking first in both the 100 backstroke (56.75) and 100 individual medley (58.96). In addition, senior Kristen Meier won both diving events for the second straight day, taking the 1-meter with 280.12 points and the 3-meter with a score of 307.57.

Freshman Chelsea Bailey, who was involved in both relay wins, captured the 50 backstroke in 26.75. Another first-year Aztec, Gemma Johnson, won the 100 butterfly (56.39) for the third time in her three meets this season. Veteran Meghan Zimmer was victorious in the 200 freestyle with a mark of 1:52.56.

SDSU's other race winners included Kelly Marquenie in the 1650 freestyle (16:51.73), Melanie Garibaldi in the 500 freestyle (5:00.21), Mikaela Macklin in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.25), Natalie Meltzer in the 50 breaststroke (31.07) and Loreen Whitfield in the 50 butterfly (25.50).

Up next for San Diego State is its first home meet of the season, a double dual meet against Mountain West foe Colorado State and UC Davis on Saturday, Nov. 5, at 12:30 p.m. (PT) at the Aztec Aquaplex.
