SAN DIEGO - Fans can now vote online for San Diego State senior quarterback Ryan Lindley for the 2011 Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award. Voting, which counts as five percent toward Lindley moving on to the next round, extends until Oct. 23.

Lindley is included in a list of NCAA quarterbacks who exemplify Davey O'Brien's enduring character, while exhibiting teamwork, sportsmanship and leadership in both academics and athletics. The O'Brien Award is presented annually to the nation's best collegiate quarterback and is the oldest and most prestigious national award for the position.

Lindley led the Aztecs to a 49-21 victory in Saturday's opening game against Cal Poly. The Alpine, Calif., native, who is also a candidate for the Maxwell and Manning Awards, completed 15 of his 27 attempts for 203 yards vs. the Mustangs and added four scores to set the school's all-time record for career touchdown passes with 71.

The recipient of the 2011 Davey O'Brien Award will be announced live on ESPN along with other National College Football Awards Association (NCFAA) member awards on The Home Depot College Football Awards on Dec. 8.
