SAN DIEGO - San Diego State senior quarterback Ryan Lindley has been tabbed fifth in the preseason top-10 quarterback position rankings published by The Sporting News for the 2011 collegiate season.

The 6-4 signal-caller returns for his fourth year as SDSU's starter and has already amassed 9,537 career passing yards and 67 touchdowns in 36 contests. The Alpine, Calif., product had his best season a year ago, throwing for 3,830 yards and 28 TDs to lead the Mountain West in passing (294.6 ypg.) and total offense (292.2 ypg.). Lindley was a second-team all-conference selection as a junior and enters 2011 within striking distance of the school's all-time career passing record currently held by Todd Santos (11,425).

The Aztecs return 14 starters and seven all-conference selections for the 2011 season, including Lindley, explosive sophomore running back Ronnie Hillman and conference sack leader Miles Burris. SDSU kicks off the season at 7 p.m. PT on Saturday, Sept. 3, against Cal Poly at Qualcomm Stadium.

Season tickets, which have already surpassed totals from the past three seasons, remain on sale and start at just $66. Single-game tickets are also on sale and start at $11, except for the contest against Boise State. Tickets for the game against the Broncos start at $15.

Tickets can be purchased online through GoAztecs.com, over the phone by calling (619) 283-7378, or by visiting the Aztec Ticket Office at Qualcomm Stadium's Window "E." The ticket office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
