MIRAMAR, Fla. - San Diego State's Allison Reaser finished in fourth place in the heptathlon at the 2011 Pan American Junior Athletics Championships Sunday at the Ansin Sports Complex in Miramar, Fla.
Reaser finished the two-day, seven-event competition with 5,162 points, 115 points behind fellow United States participant Deanna Latham (5,277). Brazil's Tamara Souza won the event with 5,477 points.
Reaser, who earned the right to compete in the Pan American Junior Games after winning the U.S. Junior Championships last month, began the second day in the long jump. She leaped 19 feet, 1 ½ inches to take fourth in the event for 798 points.
In the javelin throw, Reaser had the third-best mark of the competitors. The throw of 110-0 gave her an additional 544 points.
Reaser closed out the heptathlon in the 800-meter run, where she ran the second-fastest time of the day in 2 minutes, 26.46 seconds. The 2:26.46 got her 738 points.
