AZTEC STORY LINES
No. 9 San Diego State, the seventh seed at the MPSF Tournament, experienced a heartbreaking defeat on Friday against No. 2 Cal, losing in the final minutes in a back-and-forth affair, 7-6. Eliminated from NCAA Tournament contention, the Aztecs must put the tough loss behind them and prepare to take on a very talented No. 5 Hawai'i team that is coming off a loss to No. 7 San Jose State.

MPSF TOURNAMENT SERIES HISTORY
The Aztecs are 3-5 all-time against Hawai'i in the MPSF Tournament. The two teams have met in the postseason in each of the last four years, with Hawai'i winning all four times. Similar to the series against Cal, the quality of the games between the two squads has been phenomenal as of late, as five of the eight games, including the last three, have been won by one point. The largest margin of victory in the two team's postseason series history came back in 2007, when Hawai'i won 19-12. The Rainbow Wahine hold a 74-67 edge in total goals over the course of the two teams' postseason series.

ABOUT THE MPSF TOURNAMENT
The MPSF Tournament is being held this year in San Jose, Calif. The Aztecs are 35-28 all-time in the the 15-year history of the event and finished in sixth place at last year's tournament in Los Angeles, Calif. In 2000, the last time the championships were hosted by San Jose State, the Aztecs went 3-2 en route to a fifth-place finish. SDSU's best finish at the tournament was back in 1996, when head coach Deena Schmidt took the Aztecs to the championship game in the event's inaugural year. SDSU has not finished better than fifth at the tournament over the course of the last 12 years. All-time, SDSU has finished second at the MPSF Tournament once, third and fourth on one occasion each, fifth four times, sixth three times and seventh five times.

IF THIS, THEN THAT
If the Aztecs are victorious on Saturday, they will participate in the fifth-place game at 11:30 a.m. PT on Sunday, May 1.

If SDSU falls to Hawai'i, the Scarlet and Black will play for seventh-place at 10 a.m. PT, also on Sunday, May 1.

SHE SAVES MORE THAN A COUPON
Junior goalkeeper Kelly Campoli racked up another 12 saves on Friday, bringing her season total to 331. That number ranks fifth in SDSU single-season history, one behind Aztec alum Heather Fenske's 2008 total. Campoli now owns the third, fifth and sixth-highest single-season save totals in the school record books. The Lake Forest, Calif., native is already the SDSU's all-time career saves leader with 968 and counting.
