SAN DIEGO - The SDSU Cheerleading and Dance Team won two national titles Sunday, when both the cheerleading squad and dance teams each finished first in their respective competitions at the 2011 United Spirit Association Collegiate Cheerleading and Dance Championships. The Competition was held Feb. 26-27 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.
The title is the second for the cheerleading team in the last three years and their third-consecutive top-three finish.
The dance team, meanwhile, broke a three-year streak of finishing in fifth place. The team ended Saturday in first place in both the jazz and hip-hop events, and then wrapped up its title on Sunday with a routine to Celine Dion's "It's All Coming Back To Me Now."
