MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Junior Kristen Meier finished 10th of 47 divers in the 1-meter springboard competition on Friday at the Zone E regional meet being hosted by the University of Minnesota. That result followed her fifth-place finish in the 3-meter springboard on Thursday.

Meier, a junior transfer in her first season at SDSU, was ninth after the preliminary round with a score of 263.95. In the finals, which featured the top 16 competitors from the preliminary round, she improved her placing to fifth with a mark of 252.40 for a total score of 516.35.

Aztec freshman Anna Steiner, competing in her first Zone meet as a collegiate diver, finished in 36th place in the prelim with a mark of 213.50.

A total of six women will qualify for the NCAA Championships from the Zone E Meet. The official list of qualifiers will be determined after the meet concludes Saturday afternoon.

Meier and Steiner will compete in the platform competition scheduled for Saturday (March 12) with prelims getting underway at 11:00 a.m. (CT).
