LOS ANGELES - San Diego State junior Kristen Meier concluded a stellar weekend as she set a new school record in the platform diving competition during Sunday's UCLA Diving Invitational. She had already established new SDSU records on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards on Saturday during the meet against Tulane and Northern Colorado at the Aztec Aquaplex.

Meier's score of 217.90 on Sunday came in the preliminary round of the competition and placed fifth among the 22 divers in attendance. Fellow Aztec Anna Steiner finished 11th in the prelims with a mark of 192.60 to qualify for the finals as well. Aina Eill also turned in a 168.90 to finish 17th.

Steiner then scored 215.65 in the finals round to capture fifth place with Meier right behind her at 207.85. Steiner's point total ranks as the third-best in school history in the platform diving event.

On Saturday, Meier set a new school Aztec Aquaplex records in the 1-meter event with a score of 301.05 and in the 3-meter with a mark of 314.85. Her mark in the 1-meter broke a pool record that had stood since the 2007-08 season.
